This advertisement is a good example of Ethos. It uses an American celebrity, Kanye West, to help advertise their product. People are more likely to buy a product when someone they know the person in the advertisement. If the person is credible and someone we can trust then it helps the company get more people to buy what they’re selling. It also gives people the thought that if they eat this product then it will make them more like the celebrity on it. In this case, many people like Kanye West, so if they see that he is eating Chex then his fans will want to do it too. Usually, an advertisement will have more words, but even though this advertisement has very few words it is still very persuasive. It persuades by telling viewers how Chex is better than other brands for them. This ad is basically saying Kanye West eats Chex so why don’t you? This is very convincing for most Americans today. It illustrates more words from it’s picture then actual words that are on the ad.
When it comes to ads, Ethos helps persuade people more than any of the other ways convince people. It is hard to use Logos to persuade people because it would seem boring and pathos is hard to put in an ad. Therefore this ad is the stereotype for all ads because it’s persuasive and it uses someone who is credible even though what is said in the ad might not be true.
It was a genuine pleasure to read your writings, for your decent reiteration of Pathos, Logos and Ethos from your ads. Yet it is brutal for my intellect to comprehend your blog's title, you could meliorate you title slightly, so readers could have a better understanding of your themes.
ReplyDeleteGood job! Your point about how it is difficult to put pathos into an ad is very true but I think it is still possible. It would need to be a detailed ad.
ReplyDeleteI agree that this ad uses ethos. They have Kanye West advertise who is known worldwide. This should persuade many people because he is so famous.
ReplyDeleteI agree with your opinion that use a famous and trusted person to represent an object that looks believable, although the content of ad is fake.
ReplyDeleteI agree with your opinion that using a famous and trusted person to represent an object can let this object looks credibal although the content of ad is fake. Because people always belive anything that their trusted people said.
