I read a New York Times article about a man called Doug Pojeky or better known as “the bird whisperer.”  There were forty pictures of him hugging a owl on facebook.  Their photo was shared more than a thousand times all over the internet. “They” have expanded a small rescue group for the whole world.  Mr. Doug Pojeky said “my phone never has rang so much.”  He is retired from the navy and works as a volunteer for the nonprofit “Wild At Heart Rescue.” They used rhetoric when they talked about the man rescuing the owl (pathos).  They appeal to feelings because society hates when animals are being abused.  They used pathos because they talked about their work and how they care about animals that are in danger; showing us how they care and that animals are important.  Logos was used when they mentioned the popular picture of the owl hugging the man, making us notice that he cares about the animals. Hey kids!  Let’s talk about illegal sneaker dealing.  I recently watched a ted talk called The Secret Sneaker Market- And Why It Matters.  In this speech, Josh Luber talked about how popular sneaker brands, like Nike, dominate the secondary sneaker market.  He analyzes this sneaker market and compares it to the stock market. He starts the talk by revealing that he is a sneaker collector and keeps track of the sneaker market.  This is showing ethos.  He proves that he is credible.  He also makes it interesting for the audience by having pictures and having a chart.  He makes his speech interesting by describing the hype that sneaker collectors cause in the market. This weird commercial I found in YouTube in a youtuber channel, the channel name is Wismichu and this character made a reaction of Japanese’s commercials. This commercial of advertisement is about baby ice cream you think ok ok is just a commercial about baby ice cream but it isn’t, is really weird, because isn’t about a person saying “hey buy my ice cream” no that isn’t the principal idea because in the commercial is a guy with the ice cream in his body and he ate the ice cream, you are thinking “what…?, that is disgusting” but yes he did, he ate the ice cream and that is disgusting because if you think “I want my baby eat that?” obviously no I don’t want but the commercial make the person who saw it feel weird and uncomfortable. I think the commercial or advertisement wants to be funny but it isn’t because the commercial is to the parents who buy the ice cream and I will think the parents want the baby eat ice cream of the body of an Asian man.
