I watched a sermon on YouTube. A Korean minister preached a fiery sermon about faith. The guy in the video talks about faith for receiving. He asked a lady “Do you have faith for money?” and she said yes. And then, he said there is no money around us. Nobody see money. Faith says, or tells us that you have it before it appears. Faith says I have it because the Word of God says, or tells us it’s mine. The minister was able to get attention by asking a question to the lady. Also, he could make audience want to listen. He said “In my spirit, through the eyes of faith, I could see money was mine and it is same with any promise in the Word of God.
If we put faith in the Word of God, God is going to make it happen. Faith is receiving the promises from God. God wants us to trust him to the point of actually receiving things from His word before we see them. I found a Bible verse that saying ‘Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours’ Mark 11:24. I will have faith that I have received it.
He read Hebrew 11:1 “Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see” He said faith is our evidence. He used a bible verse. The bible is Word of God which is appealing to credibility about what he saying. He said faith is nothing more that believing God. Bible is word of God and bible is the truth that sets you free and keeps you free. I think he is using logos to prove his speech.
He used an example to prove his speech. He said there is receipt. The receipt is the evidence that I paid for these items. Faith is like a receipt. Jesus christ paid for many many things for all of us. When Jesus died for us and shed His blood, that was the payment. That is why we can operate by faith because Jesus paid for our joy, peace, our healing, our freedom, and our salvation. You can’t see Him and touch Him, but you know there is Jesus. I don’t think this example is reasonable. I don’t think people are able to agree with this example. I can see his purpose of this example, but I think I does not make logical sense.
There is a couple main points of this sermon. The first one is faith and believing are continuous. Second one is faith is receiving the promises of God. He used a bible verse to give credit to the audience. Also he used logos to persuade the audience. He used an example to convince the audience, but I don’t think it seems persuasive. If I was the minister, I would use more reasonable examples.

You understand what the minister wants to tell audiences, and I believe you could use more reasonable examples.
ReplyDeleteFaith is not a easy thing to talk about. It is actually hard to tell people how it works. But according to what you said, the preacher did a great job to talk about faith with people. I hope I can watch it too.
ReplyDeleteYou did a good job at laying out all the points from the preacher.
ReplyDeleteThat is a wise person, his words were logical and easy to understand, I believe he helped you and me understand more about God!
ReplyDeleteYou did a great job of relaying what the preacher was trying to say. He made several points but you did a good job of displaying what the preacher was trying to say about faith.
