I saw an advertisement for a Ford 2018 F-150 commercial while watching TV. The ad was trying to persuade the viewers that the Ford truck was the best truck on the market. They made the advertisement relatable, and funny, while also using real life scenarios, such as a family vacation to the lake.
In the advertisement neither ethos or pathos was used, however it used lots of logos. It told the viewers that the truck is Brainiac smart and that every other truck is history compared to itself. It also tried to make the point that, ‘If you bought this truck, your trip to wherever you are going, would be a lot more enjoyable than your trips past.’ Also because of the new special features of the truck, it tells you that, your trip, “Won’t be spoiled.” It gives blueprints to show everyone, almost like a statistics graph, how they made the truck and all the fancy accessories it had to offer, such as new sideview mirrors. The commercial did make logical sense, considering it was relatable to everyday life.
However, there were little facts about the truck, and the ad itself was not too persuasive. The commercial had more storytelling, than it did facts about the truck. It never mentioned the guarantees, the warranties, or even the price. Although logos was used, it was not used enough to make people interested in buying the truck, nor supplied the viewers with enough information. I do not believe that people would want to buy the truck after this ad because of the lack of persuasion.
Good job Gabriela. Your points are very accurate and valid.

Personally I’m a fan of ford trucks and have always loved them. But in this case I definitely agree that they do not support the idea they are trying to portray about the truck with facts. Also if you like this truck, how are you supposed to know if it is affordable. I like how you the writer said it portrays real life scenarios to make you feel attached to the truck. I agree Ford shouldof provided for information in this commercial.
