It’s a commercial advertising Honda: many celebrities on pictures of this yearbook, they just looked like friends and have a daily conversation. They keep saying words to inspire people to hustle and display vigor. Their dialogues around the topic was that although you felt confused, if you continued your dream, your dream would come true. This commercial greatly uses Pathos. Pathos is the appeal to emotion through feelings. This commercial utilized Pathos through the appearance of well-known superstars. This causes the audiences to be willing to purchase the cars in that most of them like these idols or famous people that influence their feelings and make them excited to choose Honda. The commercial also appealed the emotion of fans that enjoyed the video of their idols and stimulate them to purchase the products due to the quality of these superstars in the commercial. Concerning the other appeals, it’s disputed that it wasn’t very logical because there were not any examples or data to prove the product’s performances. This advertisement didn't use the logos to use some actually number to show this car's performance but use the really good ethos they use many stars encourage people to buy the car is's easy to make people produce the emotionally anxious to buy it.
ReplyDeleteI think that this post should have focused more on ethos because it played a bigger role in the commercial than pathos did.
ReplyDeletePersonally it was hard for me to understand the concept of the article. It would be better if she write the ethos, pathos, and logos in different paragraph. But the video clip helped me to understand and it was pretty interesting topic for me personally.
ReplyDeleteJill, I really liked your thought process and your organization in effectively pinpointing the rhetorical appeals.
