Wix.com

I saw this advertisement on YouTube when I was watching some videos. Usually I would skip the whole advertisement when it pops up, but when I read the first few sentences of this advertisement, I was deeply attracted by this idea.

This advertisement expressed an idea that any people could build your own website easily, using "wix.com" . In the video, the advertisement told me that using their website so therefore I could make a stunning website made by my own, with any design I would like and they also offered some suggestions or even some templates which you could use. The “wix.com” was orderly organized and easy to start, with an uncomplicated log in, you could get started with an artificial design intelligent which could help you by bringing up resources you might need.

Their logic is pretty clear and reasonable, they did showed some example web page that was made by them, indeed they look pretty good. Also the advertisement showed the procedures of how to make those webpage, making me believe create those web page is really easy . With examples and easy to follow directions, I believed what "wix.com" can accomplish my needs.

Their rhetoric technique was effective, using "pathos" and "logos", with the amazing webpage pictures they showed me, I was persuaded that I could make stunning webpage too if I used "wix.com". Another thing was this advertisement made my spirit high and I myself wants to try it out. And in this advertisement it also shows  how easy it is to create your own web page and also it convince you “wix.com” is your best choice if you are just a beginner.

    It‘s a simple advertisement however it’s extremely persuasive this advertisement show the people something they want to do but didn‘t cause it's look really difficult actually is pretty easy so the people would to try it.

    I agree with wix.com having clear logic. They give you easy-to-read directions and give you pictures for pathos and logos . The only thing missing is the credibility, ethos.

    Great job, Siwu! I sometimes like the easy way out of things myself, so this website's argument would totally appeal to me. Easy directions and quick process? Count me in!

Marilyn Monroe's Shampoo

While browsing on Google I found an old advertisement.  The ad was for Lustre-Crème Shampoo. It featured Marilyn Monroe, known for her beauteous looks and her parts in different movies. One of her movies was Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. Lustre-Crème was attempting to sell their shampoo through the use of fallacies. By saying that Marilyn Monroe that tells you nothing about the actual product: it simply attracts you to the pretty face in the picture. Using this as an argument of why someone should buy your product is quite illogical. Just because Marilyn Monroe uses it doesn’t provide assurance of its abilities. They attempt using snob appeal by trying to make the audience believe that they could be like Marilyn Monroe if they use the same product as her. Is Hip Hop a Cancer or a Cure?

The speech I watched was a Ted Talk presented by one of my favorite music artists, who just so happens to be a Christian rapper.  This rapper’s name is Lecrae Moore, but he just goes by Lecrae.  Over the past five years or so, Lecrae has been able to break out of the small box that Christian music and Christian rap have been put in, and he has been able to get his music out to all types of crowds.  So I was actually pretty excited when I saw that he had spoken at a Ted Talk in Nashville.  The speech he delivered was titled, “Heroes and Villains: Is Hip-Hop a Cancer or a Cure?”  In this speech Lecrae talked about how it is easy to look at certain people in history and label them as heroes or villains, but he talks about how not everyone views historical figures the same.  Lecrae started off by defining where we get the words, “Hero” and “Villain”.  Knowing the origin of these words really gave good context for what came to follow.  He then went o...
